BILLING

Within our office, when you see a doctor, get X-rays, visit the cast and brace department, or work with a physical therapist, we will bill your insurance (both primary and secondary). However, you are responsible for any deductibles, co-pays and charges not covered by insurance. We might ask you to pay these fees prior to service. Unpaid balances are due upon receipt of your billing statements. Services for lab tests or our on-site partners will be billed separately. Patient Financial Policy

Hope Orthopedics of Oregon accepts most major insurances. If we cannot verify your insurance coverage or if your coverage is in doubt, you must sign a statement assuming responsibility for all charges. This may occur, for example, in worker's compensation claims, when claim acceptance has not been established.

All Hope Orthopedics of Oregon doctors participate in state-approved Worker's Compensation MCOs (managed care organizations). We also accept all out-of-state carriers except Washington L & I.

For billing questions, call the business office at 503.540.6325.

How to make payment arrangements before your visit:

If you are uninsured or are paying with cash, you must make payment arrangements in advance. We might require full payment prior to service. In some cases, financing options are available. Financial arrangements will be reviewed with you and must be finalized at the time of your service. We will send you monthly statements on account balances.

To make payment arrangements, please call the business office at 503.540.6325.

For your convenience, you may pay your account using Discover®, VISA® and MasterCard®.

If you do not have insurance:

If you are not insured, we want to be sure you have a chance to meet with our account representatives to establish a payment plan if you need one. Typically, uninsured patients are asked to pay a $100 deposit at their first appointment. Good faith estimate: Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. If you visit a Hope Orthopedics of Oregon partner:

You will receive a separate bill from our on-site partners if you visit them for lab work. If you have outpatient surgery, you’ll also receive a bill from Willamette Surgery Center. People who have inpatient surgeries will receive a bill from Salem Hospital.

If you have surgery, you might also receive a bill from:

  • Your anesthesiologist
  • The laboratory that processed your clinical laboratory tests (such as Salem Hospital lab)
  • Any medical appliances or products not covered in the surgery center's fee
  • An assistant surgeon (if one is used)
