Broke my ankle and wrist in May and Dr. Taksali and Dr. Knight operated on me to repair both. Very successful surgeries and I am doing great. Just had a total knee replacement in September and Dr. Zirschky did that surgery. I am progressing nicely from that surgery as well. Everyone at Hope are kind, efficient and knowledgeable. - Susan M. - 3/09/2021

Dr Taksali and the staff I encountered were great. The team members were upbeat and helpful. Dr. Taksali himself is not only highly skilled in his speciality but also thorough and thoughtful in his communication with a very anxious patient! So glad we have him in Salem. - Pamela A. - 2/04/2021
Fractured Left femur from an accidental fall while traversing a construction site. Blessed to have Dr. S. Taksali surgically repair the leg. Amazed after viewing the XRays of his artful reconstruction! Now thoroughly enjoying my 82nd year due to his talent. - Silvia C. - 1/30/2021
Dr. Taksali is a board-certified trauma specialist, whose focus is on the care of fractures and post-traumatic reconstruction. He brings to Hope patients extensive education and training in trauma care, but he says he believes it takes more than clinical expertise to provide exemplary care.
"I feel fortunate to have been educated and trained in some outstanding settings," he says. "But what makes a good doctor is how you care for your patients, how you guide them through the recovery process. That, I think, is a better indication of who I am."
When he isn't taking care of orthopedic traumas, Dr. Taksali enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and photography. Ask him about his appearance in the documentary "Eating You Alive" where he discusses the benefits of a plant based diet.
