  • Dr Yao explained my condition, summarized my options, listened to my self evaluation, discussed it with me and made a recommendation that I agreed and am very comfortable with. He did not seem rushed, and created a very comfortable environment for me. I felt very good about the entire appointment. Additionally, the check in process was very efficient and the... read more - Kevin T. - 4/30/2021

  • I originally met Dr. Yao several years ago when I literally could not walk because my back was so bad (I thought.) After talking with me, he sent me for x-rays on my hip area and he was right! • Dr. Yao is one of the best surgeons around. Seven years ago, he repaired my ruptured rotator cuff that a different surgeon had unsuccessfully repaired and I haven’t had any problems since. Saw him recently with a different problem and I know I can trust his advice. Trust in a Physician means so much. - Mary S. - 4/07/2021

  • Dr. Yao has been my orthopedic surgeon for 6 years and 2 knee surgeries. He is a great doctor and surgeon and a really good listener. - Lori P. - 3/17/2021

  • Dr Yao was very pleasant, caring, and helpful. I would recommend him to anyone wants a doctor who listens cares and takes his time with you. - Ellen J. - 3/10/2021

Dr. Yao, a sports medicine and orthopedic specialist, thought he was destined for a career as a physical therapist before having a change of heart and deciding to attend medical school. He even practiced physical therapy during part of his time in medical school. "With my physical therapy training and love of sports, it just seemed like a natural extension," Dr. Yao says. "It's sort of a cliché, but I love the whole aspect of being able to identify a problem and fix it. It's positive reinforcement on a daily basis."

When he's not in the clinic or in surgery, Dr. Yao plays in a rock band. He also enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, volleyball, and competing in triathlons.
